A beautiful country setting inspired the updates for this home.
The homeowners were looking to update their home and make it feel like part of their beautiful country setting. They wanted to create a more open and seamless feel between the inside and the outside surroundings. We reworked most of the space on the main level of the home including the entry area, a bedroom, the living and dining areas, and the kitchen.
KITCHEN
The kitchen was cramped, dark and lacked storage. We moved a wall back and added plenty of cabinets, as well as a cook’s range. The gorgeous granite countertops have the look of the forest and birch trees and were key to bringing the outside “in”. In addition they provided the color palette for the design.
DINING AREA AND FIREPLACE
The homeowners wanted add a fireplace to the living area for cold winter days and nights. Additionally, they wanted to remove a home office from the dining area returning it to its original function and make the view and fireplace the focal of the living area.
Entry Area
The entry area was very crowded with a bedroom right next to the front door which made the whole living area seem small. By removing the bedroom walls we were able to open the whole space up. The once unused space became a wonderful music area, and now showcases some beautiful instruments.
The living areas in the home are now in harmony with the beautiful country setting!
